Basic Function of Job:

Responsible for the administration and execution of shipping duties, stockroom duties, rework assessment and preparation of material shipments to Suzhou and Singapore for II-VI Saxonburg. This includes the pre-packaging of shipments, and the receipt and delivery of in-process optics/materials, assisting in the packaging of ZnSe material and the inventory and shipping of nozzle orders. Responsible for accurate computer transaction, inventories, documentation and labeling.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

  • Shipping or receiving experience preferred in an organization that utilizes a computer-based reporting system.
  • Clerical and/or stockroom/warehouse experience desired.

Special Abilities:

  • Well developed organizational, computer data entry skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adjust to daily work requirements.
  • Excellent customer service skills including telephone techniques, listening skills, sense of urgency and enthusiasm.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with end-users and management.
  • Must be both team-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Proficient math skills.
  • Able to handle diverse, high volume, detailed tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to understand and complete export shipping documents.

Working Conditions:

  • Range from receiving and packaging on the shop floor to detailed documentation and data entry.
  • Must be physically capable of routinely lifting/moving up to 50 lb. packages.
  • Must have high degree of flexibility and proficiency while working on many tasks in parallel; the ability to successfully manage requests and tasks for both internal customers and external service providers; ability to collect and analyze pricing and other information from carriers and make recommendations to management.

Accountability:

  • Responsible for accurate packaging of orders and accuracy of computer/warehouse transactions.
