KEY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops, modifies, and maintains software/firmware for any purpose relevant to the development of ASICs, FPGAs and II-IV module products.
  • Implements according to established coding/architectural and quality standards and takes responsibility for identifying and learning those standards.
  • Documents software/firmware products, tools, APIs, test plans, standards, and related items.
  • Implements, tests, debugs, and verifies firmware/hardware interfaces and other hardware functionality.
  • Takes responsibility for (a) identifying, documenting or marking up, and verifying the correctness of requirements for assigned work, (b) providing effort sizings for such work, and (c) thoroughly quality checking work against requirements and all architectural/coding standards prior to any deliveries.
  • Learns about the proper use of hardware testing and verification devices (evaluation boards, simulation hardware, etc.) and becomes familiar with basic hardware and hardware communication protocols as required to perform the responsibilities above.
  • Communicates professionally and clearly as regards work performed.
  • Takes initiative and demonstrates ability to work independently on projects.
  • Faithfully represents the teams' standard of excellence in all work performed and in communications to other teams.
  • Promotes the products produced by the team for use elsewhere in the organization wherever such can be of benefit to II-IV's success.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (with hardware interfacing experience).
  • Excellent software design, coding, and debugging skills and at least 15 years of experience in these areas. Systems programming experience is a strong plus.
  • Extensive programming experience with assembly language, C, and at least a few scripting languages.
  • Experience with software development on both the Windows and Linux computing platforms.
  • Familiarity with basic hardware-interface debugging techniques using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and schematics
  • Excellent communication skills.
