Basic Function of the Job

Supports process engineering and application development of the Thin Film Coating manufacturing areas. Provides hands on engineering tasks related to optical cleaning, thin film deposition and operation support functions. Develops, implements and documents electronic controls, programs and maintenance for all phases of the manufacturing operations. Supports new programming, design, controls and construction of processing equipment throughout manufacturing. Provides data collection, analysis, process control, documentation and troubleshooting for engineering related projects. Develops understanding of all thin film processes and standard specifications. Supports development and maintenance of drawings and schematics of department electrical, instrumentation, network and control systems. Maintains existing process computers and control systems and supports new initiatives.

Job Requirements

Education: BSEE or BSIE

Experience: 0-3 years' as a process engineer supporting highly technical manufacturing environment.

Special Skills:

  • Demonstrates a high degree of accountability and initiative, requiring minimal supervision.
  • Good oral and written technical communication skills.
  • Knowledge of TQM and SPC techniques.
  • Hands-on problem solving and operation audits.
  • Advanced computer and programming skills.
  • Knowledge of computer interfacing including LabVIEW, AutoCAD, Machine language, Visual Basic and other programming languages.
  • Exposure to process safety and industrial hygiene practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively.

Working Conditions: Actively involves working with small to large equipment and exposure to low level radioactive material and other hazardous chemicals, as well as clean room and office environment. Will be required to assist in providing 24 hours a day / 7 days a week technical support for manufacturing.
