Basic Function of the Job:

The Operational Accountant has responsibility for the finance and accounting activities at EpiWorks. Key financial duties include all accounting and reporting activities to ensure that the financial and management reporting is reliable, accounting records are accurate and complete and all financial transactions are properly recorded. Responsible for executing the Month End Close, reconciling month end accounts and posting journal entries. Responsible for accounts payable, intercompany transactions, fixed asset tracking and other general accounting activities. Responsible for the maintenance of inventory standard costs and cost accounting system. Other projects as assigned by the Site General Manager.

Education:

  • Associates Degree or Higher
  • Basic reading and math skills

Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with specific experience in managing facility month end close, reconciling month end accounts, and AP/AR.
  • Experience with problem analysis and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results independently or working with others
  • Ability to recommend and implement improvements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with networked PC based computer systems
  • Advanced level experience with MS Excel

Special Skills:

  • Ability to work with an automated inventory and accounting system
  • Ability to proficiently use electronic spreadsheets
  • Working understanding of financial statements and generally accepted accounting principles
  • Attention to detail
  • Leadership and the ability to work highly independently with minimal guidance from supervisor on specific tasks
  • Excellent program management and independent planning skills for cross functional programs
  • Timely and accurate
  • Strong spreadsheet skills and ability to work with various software applications
