Basic Function of the Job:

Provide confidential administrative and secretarial assistance to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of II-VI Incorporated on a part-time basis.

 

This position reports directly to the Chief Procurement Officer. The Administrative Assistant will support the CPO to maximize efficiency and productivity while maintaining the strictest confidentiality and discretion when dealing with all II-VI Corporate information, especially those related to the Executive Leadership Team, the Officer's Group, HR, and Legal Counsel. The incumbent is expected to exercise independent judgment in administrative details through knowledge of and network with the II-VI Organization and Leaders, Systems, Practices, Policies, and by anticipating and solving problems and completing tasks that help keep the organization scalable, efficient, and recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities. The incumbent is accountable for all day-to-day logistics of the CPO including, calendar, email, and phone management, visitor coordination and assistance, travel coordination and expense management and any other administrative and secretarial services to support the CPO.

The incumbent needs to collaborate well with his/her peers, internal & external customers and suppliers, employees, and operates within the Worldwide Values and all policies, practices and procedures of II-VI Incorporated.

 

Education:

  • Secretarial and/or Administrative diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Administrative credentials preferred

Experience:

  • 5 + years of Experience with at least 2 years support at the C-Suite Level for a public company

Special Skills:

  • Multi-tasker capable of juggling multiple priorities from multiple Executives
  • Proficiency in all job related software
  • Highly Flexible and Adaptable to ensure the job gets done
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and editing skills
  • Excellent judgment and organizational skills
  • Develops solutions to a variety of complex administrative problems
  • Personal initiative to lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Composes routine written communications
