Basic Function of the Job:

The Import Analyst must exercise judgment and discretion to execute day to day activities related to the II-VI Incorporated Import Management and Compliance Program in order to help keep the IR Saxonburg business running efficiently and compliantly. Priorities include revision of import documents and ensuring they meet all applicable laws. The Import Analyst will work closely with Corporate Trade Compliance, Sales, Shipping, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Receiving and Warranty departments. Other responsibilities include classifying Saxonburg products, record-keeping, End Use Certificates, and Denied Party Screenings among others. The Import Analyst will also provide support relative to additional export and trade compliance-related activities as may be needed from time to time.

Education:

  • BA or BS in business or related field preferred; experience in Trade Compliance with an emphasis on US Customs import processing and procedures.

Experience:

  • Possess a fundamental understanding of International Business and Trade Compliance (Import and Export) rules and regulations.
  • 3-5 years of experience in work directly related to import/export regulations (mainly the U.S. Customs regulations with a plus including the ITAR and EAR).

  • General knowledge of international trade law regulations and supply chain operations
  • Problem solving skills and good judgment
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written
  • Individual must possess good organizational skills and be highly motivated
  • Actively look for ways to help people - service oriented
  • Individual must be proficient with Microsoft Office products & a PC based environment
  • Experience with SAP
  • US Customs Broker license a plus but not required
  • Interact and communicate effectively with others and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Due to ITAR compliance, this position requires a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident Alien, or Protected Individual per 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)
